How we handle your information

You trust us with your laptop, and often with the files on it. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Last updated: 23 September 2026

1. Who we are

This website, grvits.com, is run by GRV IT Solutions Pvt Ltd (“GRV”, “we”, “us”). We repair laptops and provide IT support from our service centres in Tamil Nadu, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kerala. For the purposes of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described on this page.

This policy covers our website, our enquiry form, and the personal data we handle when you bring a device to us for repair, diagnosis or data recovery.

2. What we collect

Information you give us. When you use our enquiry form, call, email or message us, we collect your name, phone number, email address (optional on the form), your laptop make and model, the nearest service centre you choose, and the problem you describe.

Repair information. When you hand over a device, we record your contact details, the device details and serial number, the fault, our diagnosis, the quote you approve, the parts used, payment details for billing, and any warranty information.

Information collected automatically. When you browse this website, we and our analytics and advertising partners collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the page that referred you, and actions such as tapping our phone, WhatsApp or email links, or submitting the enquiry form. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).

We do not ask for sensitive information such as passwords, bank account numbers or health data through this website. Please do not send it to us.

3. Files on your device

Your laptop may hold personal photos, documents and work files. We treat them as confidential. Our engineers access the contents of your storage only when the repair or data recovery you asked for requires it, for example to test that the system boots or to confirm that recovered files open.

We do not copy, keep, share or browse your files beyond what the job needs. We do not format or wipe a drive without asking you first. For data recovery jobs, the working copy we make is deleted once you confirm you have received your recovered data, unless you ask us to hold it for longer.

We still recommend that you back up your data and sign out of sensitive accounts before handing over any device, where that is possible.

4. Why we use your information

We use your personal data to reply to your enquiry and call you back, to diagnose and repair your device and keep you updated, to prepare quotes, invoices and warranty records, to arrange collection and delivery where we offer it, to meet our legal, tax and accounting duties, to understand how people use our website so we can improve it, and to measure and improve our advertising.

We process your data on the basis of the consent you give when you contact us or submit the form, and for the legitimate purposes allowed under Indian law, such as completing the service you have asked for and meeting our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal data only where it is needed, and only with:

Our own service centres, so the bench you choose can handle your enquiry or repair.

Manufacturers, such as Lenovo when we act as an authorised service partner, for warranty claims and genuine parts.

Service providers who help us run the business, such as website hosting, email, courier and payment providers.

Analytics and advertising partners: Google (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). When you submit our enquiry form, we may share your phone number and email address with Meta in a hashed (scrambled) form so it can measure which ads led to an enquiry. Meta does not receive them in readable form from us.

Authorities, where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

6. Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use them to keep the site working, to count visits and see which pages are useful (Google Analytics), to manage marketing tags (Google Tag Manager), to show occasional on-site messages (OptinMonster), and to measure and show relevant ads (Meta pixel and Google Ads).

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use your browser’s private mode. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Google and Meta account settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you from using the site or contacting us.

7. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as we need them to respond and follow up. We keep repair, invoice and warranty records for as long as the warranty lasts and as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require. After that, we delete the data or make it anonymous. Analytics and advertising data is kept according to the retention settings of Google and Meta.

8. How we protect it

Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Enquiries are stored in a password-protected system that only authorised staff can open, and devices at our benches are kept in controlled areas. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable security practices, as required under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and we will notify you and the relevant authority if a breach affects your personal data, as the law requires.

9. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct, complete or update it, ask us to delete it where we no longer need it, withdraw your consent at any time, have a grievance addressed, and nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf.

To use any of these rights, write to info@grvits.com or call +91 90081 22526. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it, and we may still need to keep some records where the law requires.
