Most people booking laptop screen repair fall into two groups. Either the screen shows a visible crack, or it went dark and nobody knows why. Those two problems look similar from the outside, yet they are rarely the same fault underneath.
A cracked laptop screen
When the glass cracks, the panel needs replacing. There is no way around that. However, we still check the parts behind it. A drop hard enough to crack a display often bends the lid frame or strains the hinge, so replacing only the panel can leave the new one under the same pressure.
We match the replacement to your exact model, because resolution, brightness and connector type all vary within the same product line.
A blank, flickering or striped screen
Here the panel is often innocent. The usual culprits are the display cable, the hinge that has been pinching that cable for months, or the graphics circuitry on the board. Consequently we test each one separately before quoting.
There is a quick check you can do first. Connect an external monitor. If the external display works normally, your board and graphics are fine, and the fault sits in the panel, the cable or the hinge.
That single test often saves customers a great deal, since a cable is far cheaper than a panel.

The diagnosis is free. Afterwards you receive a written quote naming the exact part, and nothing proceeds until you agree to it. If we open the machine and find something additional, you get a call rather than a larger bill at collection.

Common questions
Can you repair a cracked screen instead of replacing it?
No. Once the panel cracks, replacement is the only reliable fix. We cannot separate and rebond the layers inside.
Will I lose my files during a screen repair?
No. A display repair never touches your drive. So your files stay exactly where they are.
Is it worth repairing an older laptop?
Sometimes it is not, and we will tell you. If the panel costs more than the machine is worth, you should hear that before you spend anything.
